Professionally supervised bleaching, in the clinic or with custom home trays.
Whitening lightens the natural shade of teeth using a peroxide-based gel, either applied in the clinic or worn at home in custom-made trays. It works on natural tooth structure only — it does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings, which may need replacing afterwards to match.
A check-up comes first. Whitening over untreated decay or active gum disease is not appropriate, and existing sensitivity affects how the treatment is planned.
